A quem tem esperado pelo seu devido cartão após a passagem do carteiro, informo que eles estão quase a ser enviados. Dificilmente conseguirei colocar os cartões hoje no correio. Em todo o caso tentarei. Amanhã é mais certo que recebam o carimbo dos CTT.

Aproveito para mandar o meu abraço a todos os que me enviaram a sua morada. Todos os dias recebo mais! Está a ser divertido preparar postais de Ano Novo para pessoas que, na sua grande maioria, nem sequer conheço. São pessoas que estimo por me honrarem com a sua participação nesta iniciativa. Ao fim e ao cabo, fazemos todos parte da grande família humana.

Ainda que cada um à sua maneira, temos todos pontos de vista sobre o que é certo e errado, o que é justo e injusto, sobre ética, sobre moral, beleza, liberdade, guerra, cultura, solidariedade, amor... Basicamente somos indivíduos sociais que reflectem o mundo (e sobre o mundo) de acções e significações que nos rodeia. Cada um do seu modo, nós desejamos todos o Bem. É esse instinto para o Bem que nos une. O mesmo Bem que continuaremos a desejar que aconteça em 2009. Os cartões são apenas a ligação que torna esse impulso mais forte.

É assim que penso.

Deixo a minha saudação respeitosa a quem pensar diferente.

Vale a pena lembrar que muitas vezes o espaço público encontra-se tão desprezado e deteriorado que antes que qualquer pintura possa ser feita, é necessário preparar as paredes com rolos de tinta.

Quem acredita que arte de rua é vandalismo, devia mudar de opinião diante dos esforços de um graffiter para tornar mais belo o espaço colectivo. Em vez de serem criticados, estes artistas deviam mesmo era serem pagos pelo tanto que investem da sua energia, tempo e dinheiro.

Graças aos artistas de rua, o espaço público faz jus ao conceito de "sociedade democática" em que se apregoa vivermos, porque as ruas transformam-se assim em verdadeiros espaços democráticos.

For those who believe street art is vandalism, sometimes the walls of the city are so ugly and deteriorated that before any drawings can be made we must paint these walls first, in order to prepare them!

Instead of criticizing graffiti writers, people should pay them for their job! They really should get paid for their spending of time and money! Street artists turn the cities where we live into a more democratic and beautiful place to us all!

The importance of drawing

If you have a spray can in your hand it's important to know how to draw. Unfortunately many writers don't think so. To become a street artist you need responsability and, at least, some visual culture.

Infelizmente desprezada por muitos writers, a disciplina do desenho exige competência. Ter uma lata aerossol na mão é um acto de responsabilidade. No mínimo convém ser-se possuidor de alguma cultura visual.

« A prática do graffiti não é realizada ao acaso ou de forma caótica. Existem regras que permitem estruturar a comunidade e as suas formas de agir. As regras, aceites de forma relativamente consensual, enunciam os critérios de avaliação das obras e do estilo, o valor dos diferentes spots ou os territórios de acção. Old paintings get older and older. They change, deteriorate. They get more beautiful and wiser, just like people. Finally they disappear, just like everything else.

As pinturas antigas todos os dias ganham idade. A tinta transforma-se, esmaece. Os desenhos são objectos estéticos vivos que, tal como as pessoas, com o tempo adquirem beleza e sabedoria. Até que desaparecem, como acontece a tudo.

Again, the Security Council vote was 14 to 0, becoming obligatory international law.

The Fourth Geneva Convention applies to the West Bank, to the Gaza Strip, and to the entire City of Jerusalem, in order to protect the Palestinians living there. The Palestinian People living in this Palestinian Land are "protected persons" within the meaning of the Fourth Geneva Convention. All of their rights are sacred under international law.

There are 149 substantive articles of the Fourth Geneva Convention that protect the rights of every one of these Palestinians living in occupied Palestine. The Israeli Government is currently violating, and has since 1967 been violating, almost each and every one of these sacred rights of the Palestinian People recognized by the Fourth Geneva Convention. Indeed, violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention are war crimes.»
