Good evening aerosol

The weather was good, the night was sweet, so we could gently offer our name to the city.

Prestamos-lhe aqui o nosso tributo. Um abraço para Pims (DS/R1)!

Those who live in Cascais's line surely know DS Crew. They have been painting all around for a decade now. PIMS (a legendary writer from DS Crew) and Dalaiama recently painted together. We pay here our respect to Pims (DS/R1)!

Illegality and Art

«Arguments about graffiti as art usually degenerate into protracted lectures on illegality. If something is illegal, then it cannot be art. So the Michelangelo question inevitably comes up. If Michelangelo were to have painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel on your garage without your permission, would it be art? Illegality and art are separate issues. Ultimately, such debates give people an excuse not to understand what graffiti is and why or how people are using it.»

4000

A do-it-yourself city

hahahahaha

«I must say, I'm a little envious. If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed. It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks.»

Sex workers

«The concerns held by the earlier generations of humanitarians about such workers are as relevant today as they were 100 years ago. Those concerns include the young age of some of them, their special vulnerability in a foreign country, the conditions under which they work, and bullying and coercion. An examination of the successes and failures of earlier campaigns to protect the welfare of such workers should shed light on current strategies. The shifting market for women's labour has always been a major factor in the supply of women for the sex industry.»

Stay out of jail

«The police use the internet to catch graffiti writers. Don't be stupid. Never post a photo of yourself along with a photo of an illegal piece of artwork you've done. If you're going to make a profile to show off your work, don't use your home computer and leave no way for it to be tracked back to you. If we're going to keep this culture alive, we need to keep you on the street and not in jail.»

The show is over

«No more leaders.
No more experts.
No more politicos.
No more thinking
'culture' can change
anything except a few
bank accounts.
The show is over.
The audience start to leave.
Time to collect their coats and go home.
They turn around...
...No more coats!
...No more homes!»

Empire's ideology of control

«Not only is the case for president Bush's 'opinion' that 'free trade is good for both wealthy and impoverished nations' empirically feeble; there is plenty of evidence that rich countries, starting with the United States, have no intention of playing by the trade rules and strictures they foist on poorer, weaker countries as 'a single sustainable model'... Theirs is not an ideology of freedom or democracy. It is a system of control. It is an economics of empire.»

Resistance Movement

«Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it. With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness - and our ability to tell our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we're being brainwashed to believe. The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling - their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability. "Remember this: We be many and they be few. They need us more than we need them.»

Arundhati Roy
